This is a little poem thing, we wrote about the school tryathalon!
Along Willow walk
My butterflies had suddenly gone. I was staring at the girl in front of me. Her togs were blinding me; they were sparkly blue with white stars. As I passed her they suddenly disappeared behind me. There was nothing I could stare at apart from the path ahead.
Going towards the pool
My throat was going dry. My legs ached because I had just run up the steps beside the yellow slide. I trotted across the stones at the adventure playground, looking behind me to see if anyone was going to come up and pass me. (I know they say not to look behind you but you just can't help it!)
In the pool
I didn't have enough breath to swim in the pool so I walked. My shoes felt all squidgy.
Down the hill
My feet kept sliding forward in my shoes because of all the water from the pool.
I got my bike by its handlebars and flicked up the stand. It was uncomfortable riding though -because of the water I kept sliding off my seat.
At the bike transition
I got my bike by its handlebars and flicked up the stand. It was uncomfortable though - because of the water I kept sliding off my seat.
At the finish line
"Keep pedalling! You're nearly there!" I say to myself.
"Aaaahhh....." It's finally over as I collapse on the ground in exhaustion.
